We are a fast growing and highly successful young brewery currently moving up to a brand new 20bbl/32HL brewhouse while keeping the existing 2.5bbl/5HL brewhouse for small batch specials together with a glycol-controlled pilot kit.  Based in 2 spacious brand new units at the Birkenhead Tunnel with a highly successful in-house Taproom and further expansion planned with permissions recently approved for an additional new-build brewery and taproom in Scotland, we are looking for an experienced and hardworking brewer with a can-do attitude to join our team in this important period of our future.  The successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running and possess at least 12-18 months’ experience within a commercial brewery.

Reporting to the Head Brewer, your role will cover all aspects of the brewery and suit an ambitious, skilled and hands-on brewer that is excited by the prospect of working for an up-and-coming, fast growing but very well-capitalised craft brewery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Recipe formulation
  • Wort production and management
  • Fermentation tracking and testing
  • Packaging (keg and cans only)
  • Barrel programme
  • Inventory control
  • Production record keeping
  • Quality assurance and control throughout the brewing process
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Maintain safety and extremely high hygiene standards throughout the brewery
  • Flexibility – as a brewer you will understand the time needs of a brewery 
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritise
  • Able to work both independently and part of a team

Key experience required:

  • At least 12-18 months’ experience within a commercial brewery
  • A strong work ethic with a practical hands-on approach and can-do attitude
  • Ensuring high standards of cleanliness at all times
  • Experience with a barrel programme would be a plus but not essential
  • Formal brewing qualification would be highly preferred
  • Proven history of exemplarily record keeping
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills
  • Physically fit and able to lift weights of up to 40kg
  • Current driving licence
