Barrel Aged Beers #01 & #02

With both beers now sound asleep in their respective barrels, we can now reveal what beers we put into our first ever barrels.

To kickoff our new foray into barrel aged beers, we knew we wanted to go dark, decadent and decivably drinkable. So the natural answer was: a 8% Imperial Stout, aged in whiskey barrels for the added sense of occasion and Scottish warmth. It’s a guaranteed winner in our eyes and we think you’re going to love the results too!

The second beer to go into barrels is a bit of a wild card: a 6.8% American Red Rye IPA, aged in bourbon barrels. The sound of a sweet, malty, American style IPA balanced with the amazing smooth notes of bourbon and fresh vanilla from an American Oak barrel was too good to pass up and we can’t wait to see our experiment pay off.

We’ll be keeping an eye on these beers throughout the next few months (“taste testing”) and once they’re at their absolute best, we will release them for you guys to enjoy along with us!
