“Why Are You called Glen Affric brewery?”

It's a valid question, & one we get asked a lot.

We initially planned on opening our brewery in a bar we purchased in Glen Affric, in the gorgeous Scottish Highlands where our family holiday home is located.

Unfortunately it just didn't work out as we'd hoped. Mainly due to the growing scope of what we wanted to achieve with the brewery far exceeding the limits of what was feasible in the constrained bar space.

So we made the big decision to look for a home on the Wirral, where we've lived since '93. With close metropolitan links to cities with booming craft beer scenes in Chester, Manchester and Liverpool (right outside our brewery doors no less) it was a no brainer for us. We eventually found our home in Birkenhead and couldn't be happier!

But don't fret Highland lovers! We still plan on utilising our "original" location. We are planning on knocking down the original bar and will be building a bespoke facility aimed squarely at educating as many tourists, and locals alike, about the awesomeness of craft beer.
